Streets - Priority Procedure
For snowfall events the following is the priority followed for snow plowing:
- Arterial (main) roads and bus routes
- Collector roads and industrial areas
- Residential through-streets
- Cul-de-sacs and dead-ends
The objective of the Board of Works is to plow all streets as quickly as possible after a snowfall. The target for a normal snowfall is to ensure one pass has been made through all areas within twenty-four (24) hours. For major storms complete City coverage may take thirty-six (36) hours.
